what is it that causes the irritation. Is it a lichenous dust on the bark or is it the dust created when cutting/chippingthe wood?

 

Rec climbed these loads you see and i've never hada problem. awesome moves, the branches and all so long, twisty turny and strong as hell. Used to call them the bungee tree.

The other option is to work on Plane trees when it's hosing it down. The rain helps to keep the dust and hairs on the floor. Not much chance of any rain in Auckland for the forseeable future I know but................

I think the 'seed' balls on them are to blame too. Especially the new ones in june/july in the Northern hemisphere. I say 'seed' cos they are infertile but i presume the balls would be the seed pods if they could reproduce naturally? Stay away in mid summer! I hate them

I have done 4 large ish ones in the last 2weeks. Pretty bad still at the moment. Especially on the ground. Leaves are off but the pods are like itching powder and coat the chippers like lagging!

if we could not do them in summer we would, the council says do them so we have too. im thinking the courier masks are the go, our volcano masks would get too hot to climb in. cheers guys

can anyone help! I have 4 plane pollards to work on they have already an umberella form can anybody help with how to prune them tie them down any info at all please thank you pictures would also be a great help !
