PSI Powerbox

Just had a letter offering one of these for £337.50 (+VAT presumably as the letter doesn't say).

As I'll be getting a new vehicle (Navara) in January I was wondering if this was worth considering as it would potentially be 'boosting' and 'saving' for the whole time I had that vehicle.

Cynicism suggests that a gizmo claimed to reduce fuel consumption (4-6mpg extra) and increase torque may just be too good to be true.

Further reasoned cynicism/support for the gadget appreciated.

Cheers,

Jon

Weigh up the fact that if you use the extra torque it will use more fuel than before, as it all adds up to g/Kwh

&

If Nissan ever find it you can kiss goodbuy to your warranty

If your ever in an accident and haven’t notified the insurers and its found then they could void your insurance and in turn the police will prosecute you for no insurance etc

I have one on my landy, its excellent. If you drive exactly as you did before you'll get better economy, but in reality you tend to use the extra power. However My economy has not got worse and I have an extra 30 horses and better tourque which is great for towing.

The other advantage of the power box over an ecu upgrade is that you can remove it in about 5 mins, so if you need to go back to the deallers for any reason its not a chore. also you can sell it on if youu sell the vehicle or decide that you don't need it.

I fitted one to my last Navara, was great did improve performance and did save on fuel. We had two navaras one with a psi box and one without and you could tell the difference between both cars. Our navaras were manual not auto, when we changed to auto the guy i bought the psi from said dont bother fitting it to the auto. Try Vehicle Accessories & Parts|Pickup Hardtops Quad bikes great firm to buy navara accessories from

funnily enough, after reading this thread i opened my mail and i have the exact same letter.

and i quote 'they are simple plug in kits that take around 10 minutes to fit and as they can be removed easily will not void any manufacturers warranty or guarantee'

so........is this worded in a clever way meaning if you take it off before you go back to your dealers they arent going to know about it....or will it in fact not void your warranty? i might phone nissan tomorrow and find out
