Wd40 works well too. Robarb had a sticky crab that wouldn't even attempt to close. Bit of a squirt with wobbly-d and it was springing back shut within a minute!

trouble wi wd40 it atracts more dust & muck etc

After really dirty job I clean them with brake cleaner. As that evaporates! Then wither graph powder or wd. Depends which is closer to hand!

only problem with gt and wd is oil attracts dirt and grime where as graphite does not.

It is up to the user to present his kit in good working order for a loler inspection not for the loler guy to lube everything but i always wash and lube all crabs whether they need it or not and have yet to fail an ultra O or sentinel:confused1:

would be interested in how they went after a wash and lube.:confused1:

Perhaps for a seperate thread but graphite doesnt penetrate like the spray lubes.

Out of these two lubes i would go for GT85. It evaporates quicker than WD40 and has PTFE in it, therefore leaving a lubricant that wont attract dust.

If you havent tried it, you should.

But none of the above will cure JAMMING gates or WEAK springs.

Give them a ring fella and give them the name of the loler inspector. Might help.
