You are quite right, the CPC requirement (more euro legislation) is coming.

It won’t affect the great majority since previous euro legislation has reduced their driving licences to bring them outside the HGV requirement.

 

Now I know the arb world is fond of exemptions, even those it’s not entitled to but for this there ISan exemption.

 

You will not need a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) if the vehicle you drive is carrying material or equipment to be used by the driver in the course of his or her work, provided that driving the vehicle is not the driver's principal activity :thumbup:

It all comes down to what your principal occupation is.

 

If you are a tree surgeon taking the chip straight from a job to the plant then no problem.

 

If you took it to your yard and consolidated a couple of loads you could still argue that it’s part of tree surgery but the powers that be could argue that it has become general haulage.

 

If you harvested the chip to sell to the plant I think you might struggle to convince “them” that delivering it is incidental.
