A simple turns out not so simple sat morning job, (Tree wearing nail armour.) I must of sharpened my saw 6 times, god i wish i had a metal detector.

 

That's why it was left at that height!

 

Hope you charged 'em plenty, consumables and the Saturday levy etc .... :biggrin:

I don't get people's need to put nails in trees. I have never had the urge to do so.

and i bet anyone who has done, sure as hell hasn't tried cutting a tree down with them in....

Errrrrrrrm.......

 

There's a cherry plum at my Dads that I utterly refuse to take down because I can remember all the planks we nailed up there to make tree houses.

 

I remember when I was very young hammering 6" nails into the butt as steps so my little bro could climb up.

 

We knew if Dad saw them he'd go mental, so we hammered them in flush.

ah, i forgot about tree houses... perfectly justified reason for nails i think. in fact i may have contradicted myself, i probably helped build the tree house at our old house.

anyway, only a small fraction of nails are put in for tree houses so i stand by my initial sentiment (mostly)

Pics from yesterday (really really cold). EDF shut down the power in the morning, got the whole lot done by 2.15pm, probably due to the cold - it made us work faster!! First time i have used a big(ish) saw climbing (046, 25"bar).
