Well Alex, interesting criticisms, although the fact that I was climbing a badly split tree in very high wind seem to have escaped your scrutiny. It was'nt a tree I was felling it was the last chunk of the tree, maybe three foot length.

 

Why did I not use spikes on the final cut? The tree had to retained at that height, if I had worn spikes they,(the spikes) would have damaged the bark, something that you, I'm sure, would have immediately picked up on. Anyway, I was standing on some HSE approved beer crates.

 

Leave the stubs at least two feet long?

 

Who recommends that?

 

Understand me Alex, that cambium saver was not going anywhere, I know this because it told me.

blimey theres some big old tree's nice pics! how did you get the anchore point?

Herestodays willow we reduced it heavily after storm damage there was one larger limb that had ripped off the other side , but this was the only photo tom took of the day and it pissed down all morning.

It appears from some off your photo you don't know how to use the corect cuts for tack downs. I spaose if you only need one hand the saw the other one would not be missed... Not good sir. The 200T is a two handed saw just like all the others, and for all those who say have to use it one handed to get on... B*****s You need to use cuts rigging and prunning saw more. Last year I needed to use my saw one handed twice, even the one time I could have probably work positioned round with hein sight. This year not needed to once.

so your saying last year you only used your saw twice and you haven't used it at all this year?
