Hi Steve, I'm just footlocking up the double line after taking the deadwood off the branch below me, on my VT. The day before I used a Kliemhiest on a single rope all the way up on a different tree, that was a little un-nerving. Yeah maybe my avatar could do with a change!

Yesterdays Ash wrecking, Westonbirt village, roadside, very brittle up top so no rigging, slight delay, (Two hours) while we waited for a bee man to turn up and deal with the massive nest.

 

Lovely having two tractors on site for the clear up.

nice high scale! how much was bee man ?i have a massive dead willow to quote for and noticed what i would guess is a bees nest becouse there is a lot of proper bee keeping hives to the left in a wood. would it be against the law to just go in and destroy the nest?

Matty, bee man was sixty quid, he has a friend who relocates honey bees but in this case he said it would be impossible to relocate the bees as finding the queen would involve cutting into the nest and as he estimated there were around twenty thousand pissed off bees inside it was thought prudent that murdering them was the better option.

 

Apparently it is an offense to destroy the nests and I was really not happy about the destruction.

Footlocking on a single line with a kleimheist sounds like something to have a go at. Did you sit on the hitch or just power on up?
