a couple of pics from the week before christmas, laying the willlows into the river to provide trout cover from predators, and also tidying up some sycamores on a river bank to use the timber fastened in elsewhere to prevent erosion.

Hope you did a risk assessment and put in place all the necessary control measures on that job. :sneaky2:

you cant begine to imagine my risk assesment, its like war and peace, you can even see my weighted winch blanket in the bottom of the second picture, spill kit in the truck, aspen and bio oil, all boxes ticked

best bit was we had fish and chips bought out to us onsite, love days like that

Acmena we removed just before christmas.Right next to avery busy 4 lane CBD junction. The only thing that held the two stems together was 2 cables. the fruiting bodies came out of virtually every wound from ground right up to the upper canopy. tree was removed with 50/50 climbing v EWP operator. was nice to see this tree finally gone.

cool pics mate, you boys and your bucket trucks lol!:001_tongue:, i used a mewp for the first time yesterday,21m one,the client was driving it,was reducing 100ft lombardies down to 40-50ft,easy work, glad i had a nice climb the next day,(the elm pics)

We took this hemlock down this week, here's a few pics.

It was a really interesting tree; four equal sised stems rising from a single stump, originaly part of a pair, unfortunately when the other one was felled about 10 years ago Heterobasidion set in on the stump and has spread to this one. It was a great tree to climb and gave some great views of Penicuick.
