If its the same as ours, its a ton pull. Pretty good, be carefull of the wear plate beside the capstan, it will wear pretty quick if doing alot of long pulls, and can get very sharp and will cut ropes easy.

I find the nose cone more hassle than its worth.

My other tip is get as much lift as you can, the other tree mount is good for this, as the rope can be directed up the anchor tree, through a block and down to the load. Removes alot of the friction in the drag.

Good luck, it can get tedious waiting for it.

Hello,

I havent ever used one so cheers for the advice on what to look out for, i got the bigger drum too to increase speed...... Why didnt the cone seem to work well?

I really appreciate your advice as like i said i havent used one, also have you ever used it as a skyline-dragline setup??

The cone does work well, if you can get all the butts of the brush in to it. I find that after stacking a big enough pile to make it worth winching, that until the winch has pulled the chains tight you cant get the butts in the cone, and on timber it can only go up to the size of the cone. OK if you are doing skinny stuff. It also is prone to being pulled of the side of the log if you are trying to turn it at the same time. Havent tried the larger drum. Hope it dosnt decrease the power too much. Havent tried it in a skyline setup, although I would like too as I think it would work well.
