first day of four working with ian on a good felling and milling job.

 

he will add his own thread with loadsss more pics and vids had been camaratastic today. :thumbup:

 

also plenty more trees to come down tomorow hopefully with a big fire and some bacon buttys :thumbup:

ha ha, got the bacon and sauces for tomorrow. Mark, yeah the spec is to mill the timber to 2" and 1" boards prior to sale. Rob, Just because you can.... oh that and the client asked me very nicely too.

sounds like a plan, yer first one is your first fell.

i don't get the felling technique:confused1: oh and those saws need smaller bars:biggrin:

 

Some loggers thing, stops the risk of wreaking the valuable timber. I don't do it becasue i don't know how + im lazy. Hence how i split a smaller stem the lowest 2ft is now firewood value.:thumbdown:

I think its great that the wood is being milled and not chogged for fire wood at work we regulaurly send out an 18tonner of chord and chogged timber completly useless realy great me as i love the foresty side of things:thumbup:
