seasoned ash

Hello all i have 60 tons of seasoned ash that someone wants to buy, i cut it december last year. I sell green ash for £35 per ton at road side. should i charge more for 1 year seasoned ash?

what area are you in? i was quoted £46 a ton ride side just a few weeks ago, not ash either.

It's scary to think it was only 4 or so years ago we did well if we could get £17-£18 per tonne roadside for processor sized stuff.

 

Yes - absolutely charge more -or even better process it yourself and sell it that way

Where and how has it been stored for the last year and what lengths is it in??

If you sell it by the tonne, the person who buys it will get alot more volume for their money if it is 1 year old.

The only reason you would fell and then store would be to get more value for haulage costs to then process it yourself, surely???

its in Kent the reason i have held on to it is for my own use its been stacked in 2 meter lengths outside off the ground, stupidly had not thought of the weight issue should do it by the m3 then he wants it for kindling ?
