372XP or 576XP

It'll seem like i'm constantly questioning, but i have alot of questions of late!

 

Following the success and feedback from my previous post i'll ask a couple more questions...

 

I've been looking at Jonesies site and the prices are good with either saw, i'll be running a 20" either way.

 

The 372XP is 6.1kg, 5.3hp and will take up to a 28" bar. (£595)

 

The 576XP is 6.6kg, 5.7hp and again, will take up to a 28" bar. (£661)

 

My questions are these, has anyone used both/either saw?

 

Is an X-Torq engine worth the extra cash? Will there be an X-Torq version of the 372 imminent?

 

For using a saw all day is the extra weight worth any benefits the 576 holds? The use will be firewooding/ felling and use for a groundsaw as a sub contractor.

I've never used a 576 so can't comment on it but I would ask myself the question of if the 576 is that good, why do they still make (and sell so many) the 372?

get your hands on them and see how they feel to use in your hands i have a 372xp, but dont like the feel of the 576

Exactly.... the biggest problem with the 576 is that it's not a 372.

 

There will be a 372 X-torq out soon I'm sure because it is already out in the States. People seem to like it too and 372 die hards are a tough crowd to please.

372XPG. brilliant saw, keeps your hands toasty and warm. worth the extra in my opinion if theres even a chance it'll keep the onslaught of HAVS at bay

Yes, I have. Not 576, but I have 575. It will not run a 24" bar as well as the 372 in same wood and setup. The 372 will run up to 30".

Yeah but the 575 is a pile of poo compared with the 576. That said I would still go for the 372 because you can easily up the power if you want (porting etc etc). Beyond the original specifics I reckon you need to analyse vibration and emissions which favour the 576 but otherwise the 372 is the clear winner.

I use both these regularly, and the 576 is the better saw, it puts down the power in a much better way (cant explain it better sorry:blushing:)
