Myself and Tony Tresselt were the in tree techs for the Footlock event at ITCC this year. We kept a log of the ropes used and found that Velocity was the most popular hands down. Velocity had about 65% of the climbers using it with KM III running a very distant second. Of coarse after Mr. Chisholm set the world record on the KM III it picked up in popularity, his entire group used his line.

I use 11mm PI - Hi-V - on ddrt - and do a footlock single and double but can not get off the ground yet - still using a loop for the first 5 ro 8 foot.

i have to now figure out the lenght of my footlocking rope

footlocked on a rope that had been stitched together at a comp on the wknd-you wouldnt believe how much easier it was. both sides gently stitched together so that the ropes didnt splay apart from each other. think it was velocity

when i've needed to footlockjust used the normal line 12 mm x-perience

dont see the need for any extra cost, as when footlockin ' I aint wearin spikes ' , if the rope gets any muckier off my boots, then i bang it in the washing machine but in most cases it gets grubbier from the bark syc's etc.
