Not sure how long its been like it but its due to come down anyway... the bulk of tree is a little wobbly (for want of a better word) when pushed.

Large beech limb failure at large included union , very very lucky placement

2 large tree failures last 2 days

 

first a large hybrid pop, snapping art the stem (cause yet unknown), half of the tree landed on the busy east lancs road in Salford, surprised no one was hurt as it fell on two and a half carriage ways.

Would be surprised if it was lucidum Rob.

Was it as spongy as it looks?

 

What do you put the Pop failure down to?

Lucky it didn't cause any injury.

Pop looks interesting, can't make it out in the shots, was the decay central?
