The guy carving is Tommytreecarver off here, the attachment is like a planer, kind of cut out big chisel like gouges. Cant wait to see the finished piece.

I thought it was all very interesting and glad some people had better cameras than me! (Phone camera = shocker).

9pm and just finished back at our yard, all 60 tonne bought back and in lovely log and 20 tonne of chip tipped safely back - well done fuelwood for a great stand and thanks to my lads for all hardwork - brill show and were all knackered now, but back to work tomorrow and hope everyone had a great show, didnt see much, only had chance to walk around for half an hour on saturday afternoon and only got to see the static area- great to see fellow arbtalkers and thanks for introducing yourselves to me, andy, steve, firewoodman and everyone else

I would like to say I had a great time at the show. We went as a family, 12 of us on Thursday and 5 on Saturday. One day is not enough.

 

Bought a 2nd hand Hakki Pilke and well chuffed.

 

The carvings were a sight to see, enjoyed the heavy horse's and most envious of the hand craft's, they make it look so easy.

 

Pity it's not an annual event and I am sure they could make it four days with ease.

 

Anyone know where the poles come from and how far they are in the ground (the Mrs wants to know).

Chap on the mic said the poles were 85 yrs old, pole 1 was 4.5t and pole 2 was 5.5t and that they were 99feet tall in total!
