the gear ratios of the 540 & 1000 rpm PTO's (424, 425, 427, 435, 437) (u1000 to u2450L37 6x6) are

540rpm = 4.08:1

1000rpm = 2.32:1

thus

540rpm PTO = 2203rpm engine

1000rpm PTO = 2320rpm engine

540rpm on the 1000rpm PTO = 1252.8rpm engine.

Is it wise to have the engine running @2400 rpm for extended periods?2500rpm in eight gear on the flat gives me 80kmph road speed,and beleive me you know your doing it!

I usually trundle around at 60kmph,as a U1000 driver trundling is about as good as it gets!:proud:
