Had this tarmac delivered today for JCB to start spreading on Thursday after leveling and clearing ... fingers crossed it does the job.

Thats good stuff Dave, I put that down in my other yard over clay and it is brilliant, just make sure you dont scrimp on the thickness.

 

The only down side to it is when a log has been sat on it for a while it embeds into the wood and you need to have a stiff hand brush to hand to brush it off before cutting with the saw

One of the gates is standard but the other is the longest single gate available and it took some transporting back home. It was half in the pickup and half protuding out the back, luckily I only had a mile to transport it

I don't know if this helps but you could try giving Planning Aid a ring. I very much doubt that you would qualify for a free planning consultant, but they should still give you about 15 mins of help over the phone if you ask. When you ring you should be able to talk to a Chartered Planner who I'm sure can point you in the right direction regarding any planning issues.

when we put are gates on we had to have them set back 10m on the land so not to obstruct the highway when opening them
