looks gnarley mate! ash always seem to be one of the most dodgey and also unpredictable timbers to work with....some of the most dangerous trees ive dealt with have been ash..

worked on a huge one yesterday full of inonotus that had already split in half and was full of rot reduced, by 40%....shame to take down there where so many birds nesting in cavitie,maybe some bats but was easily over 150years old ..,spent the day watching blue tits feeding there young in a cavity.

This was a 85ft beech in Worden Park, Leyland....

 

I came across it when doing tree survey of park, was the worst of 3500 trees:scared:

 

I wanted it dealt with within 24hrs, the pictures dont show how bad it really was - several busy paths went around it...

Nesting birds, maybe bats.....:scared:

did you do a habitat assessment, was the tree an emergency job???
