The lift looked a bit dodgy to me...

 

Good training for the lads in the chinook though.

 

The tree should have been cut off the stump before lifting, did you see the way it swung about one it was released... could have bought a smaller chopper out of the sky.

 

Smaller Helo would not have lifted it.

If it was in strife,the Helo could have Buttoned it off or dragged it.

I reckon max weight of the beech would be about 6 ton, a tractor and winch could of pulled that off easy BUT if you get the chance of a chinnook you just have to, i would still be talking about that job if it was mine DAILY:blushing::thumbup:

 

I have to agree - sod the tractor winch.... the chinook gets my vote any day!

The video used to have the thunderbirds theme tune to it when I watched it in 97 and if I remember rightly the house was in a remote location and a crane couldnt get down the lanes. The home owners ins company paid and arranged with the RAF to use this job as training. I cant remember what the total cost was.
