Stihl BR600 written off!

Had one of our blowers "lock-up" last week. Seems like one of the valves failed, got caught up in the innards of the engine and chain of events following has made the machine beyond economical repair. Basicly list of parts needed is close to price of a new machine. Dealer says it pure unlucky, though im reading that these 4mix engines should be run on fully synth oil due to carbon build up affecting heat dispersion of components.

BR600 is a great blower though am in two minds about replacement. Should i go for another one and carrie a seperate 2stoke mix just for the blower, or maybe convert all 2stroke mix's to fully synth?----cost though, we use a couple of gallons every week.

Or should we go for a good old fashoned stoker like a BR380?----less blowing power though..
