Ha. The guy I used to work with when I started out used to do that, ******!

He also used to wait til you'd started chogging down some skinny dead toothpick of a tree and then go to the bottom of the tree and pretend to put a felling cut in. Complete with revving saw vibrations running up into your spikes... double ******!!!

My biggest fear was gaffing out in the middle of a cut and sliding down the stick with saw running and blood flying everywhere.

Now a days I just spur in deep and get set in my perch.

I still gaff out once in awhile but it's second nature to catch myself now without even thinking of it.

After a long day in spikes, has anyone else experienced the dream where you are just about to drop off to sleep and your thoughts are on the days work. You then gaff out and kick your missus... :001_tongue:

No.Because my missus is so big I need an extension on my 12foot flip line. And anyway I'd not fall that far before I became wedged in a crack.
