Nige, i showed Louise the first pic as i was so impressed with the hinge. She said if you did that with your teeth, you need to visit the dentist:lol::lol:

Dave, there were a few strange creaks and groans from the tree, the Matador, and Derek, the owner, huffing and puffing whilst steering the old girl!

I had one those 'over exuberant' tractor drivers the other week whilst felling a roadside elm.

 

I couldn't weigh up why it was going over so quick while I was barely half way through the the other half of the back cut.

 

I'd told him I would signal him when I wanted him to pull.

 

He said afterwards, "nowt was happening, so I thought I'd give it a bit..."

 

Dork. :thumbdown:

 

Just a good job it was a chewy elm and went over ok.

 

If had been an ash it could have took my head off. :saint:

Haha i cut the gob in then back cut about 1/4 of the way in, then i think he got bored and put his foot down and over she went!
