Used a 357xpg yesterday for half an hour cutting 20 inch beech logs into rounds and the saw did NOT BRAKE!!! but the high speed mixture is set quite rich! starting to use old stihl 024 and 026 for the firewood job, rugged and reliable and parts for stihls are much cheaper than husqvarna parts.

whats your point in this thread respectfully we have 3 357xp used 1 for 18 months constantly just bought 2more excellent saws on harwood and currently thinning 20 year old sitka hard going but saws give no problem runnig them on aspen again no problems:001_smile:

i bought 2 husky 357's and appart from the carbs needing to be replaced i can not fault them . Husky replaced the carbs free of charge which is alot more than can be said for stihl , at some point or another all of out ms200t's have had to have replacment carbs which Stihl refuse to do free of charge !!!

I love my 357xpg and its taken a lot and i do mean a lot of abuse. Its been dropped several times. Its had trees land on it several time most of which have only dented the plastic case. Its been hit by some big timber rolling on which left it un harmed. Some more big timber rolled on it which broke part of the case but that stuck together with liquid stel. It got hit by something heavy more than likely a top of some sort which broke the top two cooling fins on the cylinder and bent the spark plug.

After all of that and 5 years of forestry its still going strong. Fantastic little saw tough to choose between it and the 346. The only thing is that it does like to break needle bearings a lot.
