dont sweat it, had several run ins with other vehicles (normally MOD trucks )over harvest when i used to work in hampshire, police would take the details and shift you off, as 99% of the time its the cars fault,

and the spring u bolts have shifted so i doubt its a major job, rocker beam :001_rolleyes: biggest job will be sorting the lights

hope the car driver walked away ok though

We're always being told this sort of thing, have you got one example of this??Its like the old if you don't have all your tickets your insurance won't pay out :001_rolleyes: Says WHO?????:confused1:

I wrote of one car and very badly damaged another, the police just took my details and sent me on my way.

It does happen but it seems to depend on the severity of the injuries. Bent tinwork is a job for the insurers to sort so “Mogging” a Corsa to death is a run of the mill RTA but if people are injured the authorities take a lot more interest.

If the Police accident investigation bods get involved they go through everything with a fine tooth comb. If any defects in your kit are found to be contributory to the accident you will probably be referred to the CPS for prosecution.

Recently (round the corner from my yard) a pedestrian got run (reversed) over by a 7.5 tonner. The victim got carted off to hospital in an air ambulance and the vehicle got carted off for a thorough inspection following a couple of hours of measuring and photographing.

How exactly did this happen?

From my experiences people really don't give tractors enough room or respect. Driving a 7530 John Deere going 33mph can be bad enough but it's made worse when people don't realise how fast you are going and cut you up. In something as big as that it's easier to smash and bash your way through the fruitcake and their clown car than it is to stop in a hurry.
