Only problem with a blockade is it will cause fuel shortage and busniess disruption, affecting those who are already struggling.

A blockade of 10 downing street would be more appropriate.

I do think hammering motorists has cost them dearly, especailly the so called 4x4 tax.

That was very clever, call it a 4x4 tax after the rexent hype about chelsea tractors and everyone goes, "oooh yeh, let's stick them 4x4 drivers, I hate 4x4's".

If they'd called it a "Anything over 2.0l tax" which is what it really is, then there'd of been national outrage.

Serve the selfish pillarks right, some of have no choice but to have 4x4's.

All that happens is the extra cost of fuel and tax gets added onto my day rate and the Smart car owning customer, who will also pay through the nose for their shopping too.

I have defenders - all are used off road and for work....

I have spent some time going over my books and what i have spent on fuel over the last year could by you a naice car..

I am going to get a smart car for doing surveys and quote's.

I dont even look at prices when i fill up its too scary,.

I even use bio fuel in the older land rovers. What else can you do.

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

You need to cost it out. I bought an astravan to use whenever I didn't need the landrover - the astra does about 50 mpg rather than 25 mpg. I've saved a lot on fuel, but I'm paying twice as much road tax, plus the astra insurance is dearer because I have to start on 0 no claims bonus for that policy. Add in a few breakdowns, and I haven't really saved much money at all. The road tax and insurance stuff is stupid - it's not as if I can drive both vehicles at once!!:cussing:

Thats why i am thinking smart car £250 insurance + £30 road tax...... We do lots of surveys allover the UK so rack up the miles - currently spending £750 a month on fuel:scared:

Thought about running the landi on bio derv but got told that a 'on the Qt' tax increase on this will bring it up to the same price as normal derv.

Lads down the pub wer trying to work out how many miles running on red you would hav to do to outweigh the fines for doing so.thing is landys get cheked by vosa more than normal cars so made it a little harder to work out not that im endorsing useing red for road use.
