Can i just please ask without hijacking the thread,

I have no quals at all in tree surgery, and only have some experience working as a groundie, but that is as far as i need to go as i only use saws for my own log cutting, however i feel as tho i should do a proper course in the basics, what i want to know is what is the difference between doing the cs30 / 31 nptc and doing the same course 9roughly) thro lantra, surley if they are both approved by the hse then does it really matter that one cert says lantra and the other one nptc ???

cheers.

I think although ive never been to fussed to realy bother that lantra is the training side and nptc is the assement you do lantra anyway but at the end you sometimes do nptc assesment if you dont want the assement thats fine just do the lantraa training.

The NPTC qualification is recognized internationally whereas the Lantra isnt I believe, which is useful, and if i understand correctly you are assessed by lantra during the course on 30/31, and will gain their cert of competence, and the training you receive also gives you the knowledge you need to pass an NPTC test.
