Whats these?

Can i have an id help with these please? First one is just near the base of a group of grey pops and the second one is (i think) a ganoderma bracket on an ash in a row of 5 big ash in a nursing home. I only ask as my boss and his "i know everything attitude" told us "fungus grows on ALL trees at this time of year every year and that there is nothing wrong with it"...! Is this type of ganoderma a fruiting body of root rot in ash or am i way off the mark? are the trees safe and if not whats the best action to take?? takedown or control?

It could be Inonotus hispidus on the ash. Not brilliant if there's people about under it. (If that's what it is!!)

The second ones are I. hispidus but it is growing out of an old wound so would want a bit of investigation. It might be living on deadwood or it might not.

 

The first ones i don`t know but they are not pathogenic.

Second does indeed look like Inonotus hispidus which is bad news for the ash.

The first one looks like Meripilus giganteus to me, or Giant polypore. I don't know much about them, except they're also very bad news.

Been in it but not sure how to use it unless you actually know what your looking for? although it may be me just bein a bit thick!

he wont find the first one in the fungi directory, its a red data species called the poplar pholiota I believe, at least i think its red data, wouldnt mind a peek at these one of my MAJOR must haves.
