Vermeer 625i old but still good?

Its all well and good converting it from a petrol to a diesel but you have to mess around finding an engine, getting someone to figure out how to mount it and get it to work with all the other gubbings, which would mean more downtime, and possibe parts being difficult to get.

I can get everything for mine next day delivery!!

 

You say that, but the engine was free from a scrap roller, and it cost me £438 to have it fitted by an ag engineer. Its an air cooled deutz, so unlesss i run it with no oil it will never die, and in 7 years i have replaced the lift pump for £82. Parts are as easy if not easier to get than kohler too. I have 2 outlets for deutz les than 25 mins from me.:biggrin:

I`ve got one at the moment.

Fantastic chipper almost bombproof. However the kohler engine although reliable is alloy so watch out for bolts snapping on older models as did on my first engine. I got a new engine from universal power for £1400 next day delivery fitted it myself and its like a new machine. Downtime was only 2 days I think.

 

I also had the axle widened so its not going to top over like the standard ones do.

It’s not as difficult as you think

 

The rugerrini/gannadin/hatz (basically all the same engine) 2 cylider diesels are a standard fit. They just bolt down in 4 places.

 

They are all well supported for spares either through Vermeer or many others.

Dont forget though you need to make sure you can fit/machine the hydraulic pump up to the engine and the the output has a useable shaft to run a pulley.

 

If not you can end up paying an engineer a good few hundred quid to machine some parts up.

Do you get any of te parts from vermeer?
