My missus, bless her cotton socks, has in her infinite wisdom, decided that the purchase of an old (70's) VW camper thing is a good idea. Now, I have tried all sorts of reasoning as to why they are not worth having, but she will simply not listen!! I can vividly recall many frustrating hours sitting roadside with one back in the 80's waiting for the engine to cool, even in winter. I can not for the life of me understand this sudden whim, perhaps its cos the kids are all grown up now, I dunno:confused1: So a nice comprehensive list of the machines faults and foibles would be most useful in my plot to undermine her enthusiasm

she could speak to my bro in law in stowmarket, he loves them, well loved them.

he was driving his camper a few years back, had a head on crash and his legs were the crumple zone, nice!

2 years of pins casts and surgery and still has problems. can no longer race bikes or do motox as if he comes off and breaks again, his legs will be well and truly screwed

Cheaper to put a subaru engine in, maybe not quite as fast as a porche but not far off, considering the aero dynamics!

There an newish '02 reg one near me I'll take a photo. They cost a few quid though!
