I highly recommend getting a winch for your landys

I bought one just before i passed my test thinking i may be able to get some work out of it, do abit of offroading and it'll make it look cooool :001_smile:

I have used my winch loads way more than expected, im so glad i got one.

I have used it to pull trees over, pull timber out of the wood, roll big logs in the wood yard, move logs towards the splitter/sawbench, it is such a versatile bit of kit.

Found a big old snatch block in the shed saves spending £50ish on one, so thats going to live with it from now on :001_smile:

winch? you mean you spent loads of money on something that does a similar job to a tow bar? logs dragged, stumps pulled etc can all be done with towbar..

haha only joking i'd love to get a winch but then i'd actually be touching the car in front..

:001_tt2:you must have big stinging nettles down your way if you need a winch to get them out

ahahahahaa! :blushing:

we were winching some trees over in the wood, hardly any room in there so did it from outside the wood, just fed the cable over the fence and to the tree

haha ok that is very true, but is your towbar remote controlled? :001_tt2: no need to keep getting in and out of the landy to pull stuff, and actually it wasnt loads of money very cheap for a winch that size

yep its a standard bumper with a mounting plate on top, didnt want to spend loads of money on a new bumper

yep the winch has a remote control and a handset/cable that plugs into the winch itself

You can go wireless remote for under 25 quid on the bay

Leave the had wire fitted as a back up and have the convenience of standing wherever you want to.

Careful with those solenoids Ace- I had a 9000lb pull elec winch and used to burn out allbright solenoids for a past time when pulling logs that had been on the ground for a while.....
