I can't take credit for this, saw this over at The TreeHouse and after a few messages back and forth with Burnham (Cheers Buddy:thumbup1:) and ringing around Jonesie and a Sailing/Rigging supplier. I managed to set this up.

 

Total cost about £15:thumbup:

 

Don't know if anyone else will be interested but I think its really cool.

 

Big Shot 2:1 Mechanical Advantage and release.

Pictures are as follows,

 

1, Bowline big enough to tie around the foot of the bigshot,

 

2, Snap release, with tail of the cord running through the captive eye.

 

3, and 4, Mini Distel. Used to "capture" the slack. Means that you can pull down on the cradle and doesn't matter if you let go!!

 

5, Snap release and the little Monkey's fist is the release pull.

 

6, Final step up, ready to use. (Could one of the Mod's please rotate it, I'm too thick to work out how) Cheers

It sent some quince about 150 distance with about 50-60ft height on it Liam. Tea bags are pretty good but funniest has to be small apples!! I wouldn't want to get in the way!! haha!!!

Normally, you can be quite accurate with it. The only problem you get, is overshooting what you're aiming at.

 

I didn't get a chance to put any ropes up with the release system, But it makes it a lot easier to use, So I'd be pretty sure accuracy is going to improve (it couldn't be any worse!! haha!!)

 

Fruit flies pretty good from it as well!!!
