well, take a look and listen of this video, the cutters die when you rev it up, it will just about do half revs but then there is no power for it to cut anything

its fuelling, but not getting enough fuel to get up to cutting revs..

replace fuel filter, check condition of fuel line... strip and clean carb if that doesnt work

Deffo a fuel problem, i had a problem a few weeks ago with an old Jonsered saw i use for logging down the yard, suddenly started dying at full revs, went through the usual like you have turns out the origianal fuel filter was still on after 10 years and although you couldnt see it it was not letting enough fuel through.

Fish the fuel line out of the tank and take the filter off and try run it and see what happens.

is exhaust restricted rob? all gummed up inside, not sure what that model is like but had trouble with other trimmers fouling up mesh in exhaust.. heat up with torch and wirebrush to clean..

I'd forgotten this - was many years ago. My dealer told me to remove and chuck the spark arrestor (mesh) as they we just fitted for areas where legislation required them - mind you, with how the weather is going at the moment, maybe ahould have them on!
