My understanding is that you can claim for anything you wish, however if you are investigated, you need to be able to convince the taxman that your claim is valid (no easy task) I'd speak to your accountant about this:001_smile:

Yes you can, I claim all supplements/treatments inc sports massage and chiropractic, my accountant has questioned it but as long as he/she is reassured they're legit claims there's no problem.

 

But like Andy says might be a different story justifying it to the taxman if ever that fatefull day arrives.

The guidance from Moneybox on R4 was that you should not claim for expenses that you would still incur even if you no longer worked/owned a business. The example given was for a DJ; a proper suit would not be permissable but an Elvis Outfit would.

chiropractor, physio etc then yes. Gym membership, then I think you would have a hard time justifying it.

 

Is it really worth it come the day the tax man may come knocking?
