the fishery next to me has had a lot of trouble with weed and with no rain for months its taking all the oxygen out the water, they had been messing about with ropes and jeeps with little electric winches, so i thought i would lend a hand today:001_smile:then the little duckies came along to feed on the huge grubs and beasties in the weed:biggrin:

Good work buddy. I can remember being made to pull a small gate through a small lake/massive pond to clear the weed. I was on one bank, my mate on the other, pulling a length of blue polyprop through stinking water. Not my favourite job!! haha!!

tommy each winch on the holder is 4 ton, it struggled with some of the pulls, i have a 10 foot long piece of 5 inch angle iron dragging through the water. bobby the chemical option is a minmum 2k and it is still chemicals no matter how safe the say it is, and when i am doing it we are taking all the roots and sludge awell

carp on fly tackle is great fun!! my local trout water has a load ,chuck in some dog biscuits to get them feeding then have a fly that sort of resembles one and try your luck ! not as acrobatic as trout but a good fight especially as this time of year trout go right off and retreat in to the depths because its too hot for them...so makes the fishing hopless...nothing more tense than watching carp coming crusing around before coming up for your floating bait...

Ha ha!! Ours was a bit of a bodge!! :blushing:Me mate was on the start of a river so had fresh water springs. Only about 9 to 10 ft deep and about 50- 60ft from side to side. Had to use brute force and ignorance to yank that gate through!! Tractor certainly would've been easier but we only had ignorance and a brute!! hahaha!!!
