cheers Rob, all hazel rods and joints only held in by the natural shrinking of the timber. Cut all the tennon bits 1st and let them dry in sun for a few days before cutting and drilling the mortice bits, all the joints wer quite a tight fit to start with and only get more so as everthing shrinks and only 20" tall for a 2year old!

jast show's not all alaskanmill prodjects need three blokes to lift it only the very impressive 1's.

A cabinet maker I share a workshop with is of the same opinion - you never make much money from chairs. Too many angles to do quickly. He uses a jig and spindle moulder for dining sets as it means he can get a degree of uniformity in a reasonable time frame.
