Mountain biking?

I'm currently in the Market for a half decent mountain bike or hybrid road bike to get fit and have a bit of fun on some trails. Been smurfing the web for a few days now and found CRCycles in IrelandBicycles | Bikes | Mountain Bikes | Road Bikes | MTB Bikes | Bike Parts | Bike Frames | Road Frames | MTB Frames which seem pretty good and have some bargains. It has been a long while since I sold my last bike (kona fire mountain) and it seems to be an absolute minefield with sooooo many variations and setups. Anyone here got any tips for choosing or which parts to upgrade etc etc

let's see some pics of your bikes.

There are so many unloved bikes in the back of sheds and down at the tip, theres no need to buy a new one. Bikes can be repaired and brought back to there former glory so easily it seems daft to buy a new one.

For the ultimate cycling expereance build yourself up a fixed gear racer from junk bikes. My brother built me one and I absolutly love it.

Cycling rocks I dont get out enough but when I do I fly.

Two questions – Whats your budget and what sort of riding to you intend to do?

Personally I’m all in favour of hard-tails as they offer much better value for money, will prove more reliable, easier to maintain and will be significantly lighter.

Decide on a price point and then start the research mate, maybe stick with the main brands to start with as these big companies have the buying power and often can fit quality components around a decent frame and wheel set-up.

Let me know how much you’ve got to spend and I’ll have a look at the market. :001_smile:
