Il try that one Stephen, we go on about the stress but I think we thrive on it really otherwise we would just sit in a factory. I go through stages of making fantastic money then crap money I won't be a millionaire but I think we do the best job in the world Reading your posts I'm sure you feel the same I've thought about winning the lottery and would still do tree work just have loads of over the top gear even if it didn't make a profit ha

need to remember the difference between stress and "pressure" i wouldn't say the tree work is stressful, but i would say there is pressure..

stress is trying to hit a $230,000,000 target and not knowing if you have until the last second when you;re sat in front of the CEO.....

pressure is not dropping the tree on the house....

must just clarify my last post a little, looks like i'm saying tree work is easy,,, i'm not by any means,,, it;s harder than most of my old job by a long shot,,, but i dont find it stressful,,,there is pressure,, but no stress,,, the moment that happens i'm back on the plane...

cheers lorry,,, i'm loving it,,, the money really was funny,,, earnt a bucket load,, but i was no better off,,, i just ate more expensive food and took more expensive flights,,,,

really am better off now,,,, and anyone that works for themselves is too,,, control your own destiny and line your own pocket,,, it's much more fulfilling..

as for brodie,,, i hope you get the job you want,,,you sound like you;ve worked hard for it..

Still cant belive this thread is going! some interesting points being put up on here!

My feeling is that you love or hate it blah blah blah everyone else has said it its about risk liefe is about about risk I could go self employed find forestry work and work my tits off for three times the wage im on now. but. would I want that? maybe. Do I need a change? Maybe. Can I afford to risk the change? NO Im to young to do that People my age who do the same apprentership as me say coonstantley about running there own bussiness and each to there own and all that fair play to anyone who makes it but why have the hassle at such a young age I'm personally all about moving abroad finding interesting work different people, different countries... And you only have to look at josharbs thread to see I think that is any young persons dream IMO

Good luck everyone though
