Faster than who? I know guys who I consider to be top of their game, one even has a BSc Arb to boot and they are still worried about their jobs. There just isn't the kind of money you are expecting in the job at the moment. If cash is you motivation get down tesco, if you like tree work then perhaps you need go get off you pedistool.

With all due respect a BSc is a knowledge thing.. not an ability rating..

Just a thought!!! Young soldiers on the frontline in Afghanistan earn between £50 -£70 a day before tax with a £2.5 k taxable bonus if they make it back after 6 months!! i myself have done 13 yrs in the Army and earn a respectable £32k. Do i think i'm worth more? damn right i do. but i aint gonna moan about it, i did it cos i used to love the job! the pay was a bonus!!!

i'venow chosen to leave the Army and pursue a career in Arb, a hard choice but family and staying alive mean more than a few quid!! i adapt my life to my earnings. if i wanted big bucks i'd do private work in baghdad for 100k but it dont interest me!!

The Arb world is a wonderful place but if you dont like it then go!!

Sorry if i offend, just that people moaning about simple changeable things rather annoys me!!

Frank i think your starting to get arsey arent you.... if you knock a job off early then you move onto another job which means your getting through the jobs quicker and making your money faster.. its not rocket science..

I'm not getting arsey in the slightest mate. It's a healthy debate.

The simple fact is, tree work is never ever gonna be as lucrative as it may have been years ago. Maybe due to the timber trade? Maybe the have a go heros? Maybe the recession? Maybe because we are just cutting trees down?

For this fact you are never gonna make really decent money unless you run your own business. Even then things may be tight sometimes.

Well.. if you dont set your goals high your guna achieve nothing.. is all i can say..

I'd say that wanting someone else to employ you because you don't want to be messing around organising who you are working for from day to day and aiming for around £130 a day isn't setting your sights very high at all. It's lazy if anything

why not get a loan, get some gear, get some adverts and earn £600 a day. That's a better goal surely?

Private work your talking a bit more than 100k if your any good! It's the same with any industry a bit of luck, combined with a good skill level means good earnings, without that bit of luck you can be stuffed.

But you can make your own luck IMO
