For all stump grinder teeth keeping them sharp is a definite advantage and especially for pedestrian grinders, the easiest way of achieving this is by using the diamond attachment for angle grinders and sharper either on or off the machine, £40.00 ish

Please be aware that ppe is a must for this I have had the small triangles of diamond come off the blade and stick into my face!

Greenwheel grind stones for bench grinders possibly being the next option and if you do a lot then look at diamond grind stone for bench grinder .

Ive never used the dimmond tip before so keen to follow this thread. I use the green stone on a bench grinder. If the teeth hits something hard and gets blunted bad it wares a good bit off the stone to re sharpen. The stones are about £40 so it works out pretty expensive if your using the grinder regularly, so the dimmond tip could be a better option.

My larger main grinder is fitted with green teeth and I find them easer to turn the teeth to sharper edge quickly on site and dont have the same problem with constantly braking the finger teeth.

i have had a couple of the diamond discs. the first one was single sided and wore out after a while. i have just bought one off saturn machine knives and its double sided and is working well. im thinking of getting a battery powered angle grinder so i can take it on jobs coz sometimes the teeth go blunt on the job. my advice is buy one.

Have used the diamond disc from saturn for a couple of years now.

Works a treat!..it now goes out with the stump grinder on every job along with a small generator to power the angle grinder.

Keeping the grinder sharp at all times means less wear and tear on the stumpie ie: belts wearing out. wouldn't be without it:thumbup:
