It was us northerners that started Getogethers, it was a northern idea :001_smile:

They were more like gay gatherings, all of you kipping in one room and Skyhuck with his pink blanket...:laugh1:

Face it lads it aint gonna happen.....:001_tt2:

Southerners rule...

Anybody interested in helping organise a climbing get together day some time in not so distant future?

Venues? Dates? Ideas?

Where in the original post did it say " I'm going to organise a shindig"?

It doesn't

But I will.

Planning something for end of July/ beggining august.

Loadsa time to get loads of people. I will organise an online flyer and post it in the main forum. Keep watching this space.

Anyone from "the south" wishing to travel will have lots of time to organise road trips and car loads and will be more than welcome.

Good on you, sounds like it'll be a good do. Is there likely to be camping space at the place you're thinking of for those suvverners and any other foreigners?

is there any possibility for trying a parkland where thre are good trees to climb but some that arent under any preservation? that way we could have a larger site with maybe more facilities depending on the location.

there is a small woodland where i live on our farm . however it is unmanaged and there are some not too healthy trees there but i am going to agtemp to put in a management plan for a clearout of anything which is poorly sick and replant with native trees and understory
