chin strap

Got my self a new shine stihl peltor helmet and i was looking inside and. It seems it can take a chin strap on the inside. If so where could i get 1 for it any ideas

 

The reason why im asking is im using it both as a ground and climbing helmet till i get more money so i can get my self a nice stein climbing helmet

Its not a climbing helmet. The chin strap (if you can get one) is next to useless and the helmets does not have the required side impact protection, put the visor on it and use it for chipping.

im not sure that it will meet the requirements for a climbing helmet, so will be limited to ground use, chinstrap or not unfortunatly

Nope, ground use only really. Of course anything is better than nothing though.

He means you shouldn’t be using the husky helmet for climbing, particularly not at college. There was a thread about this a while back when Myerscough sent out a cold call flyer full of pictures of students up trees with what amounts to a builder’s helmet with earmuffs and a visor.

 

The problem is that the helmet you have been using has been promoted into incompetence. It was designed to stop a falling brick caving a builders skull. It only protects the crown of your head. If you have a mishap whilst climbing it is entirely likely you will “swing in” and the impact will probably be your temple

The HSE “Strongly Recommends” the use of better helmets.

Do you climb in Husky helmets when your at college??

 

 

Yes we do,We have asked why are we climbing in ground helmets they are causing problems when we climb trees and don't feel safe when where up in the tree we can moan as much as we like but it always falls on deaf ears
