Although I do tell the hedger that laid it, that I do the hardest bit. And that is write out the cheque at the end of it.

Luckily for me, he has a sense of humour!

Having performed ok at the local ploughing match I plucked up courage and went to the Nationals. The idea was not to be last in my class. It all started badly when I arrived to find my plot next to the tents etc so I was viewed by every person who visited. Secondly I had a camera crew parked next to me with some white haired chap sitting on a plastic chair and then doing interviews.

Nothing else for it than to bury my head in the hedge and crack on!

Suffice it to say that it went better than expected and I finished 2nd in class, beaten by the same person who was just above me at the ploughing match.
