How much did you spend a month do you think? I would like to give it a go just to try raise my ranking in other areas! How long was it before you were given a voucher?

Last question, how do you check what companies around you are also using it?

Thanks

Sorry, i didn`t see your questions :blushing:.

At the moment it costs £50 ish per month sometimes more, over 3 years its cost me about £900. The cost is very area dependant ie you pay what others are prepaired to pay. About 13% of my traffic is pay per click which is significant for me.

I can't remember how long it was before i got vouchers but i still get them now and then.

The way to check who is using it is to google keywords and see who turns up.

I have had LOTS of business using adwords, but the key is to be very specific about targetting your ads:'

  • Geographic targeting. No point in paying for clicks from people that you are too far away. You can narrow the geographic area where your adword-ads are displayed by distance or drawing on a map.
  • Specific combination of search words. Don't use generic single word search words like "arborist". Use combinations: arborist, (your city), price, felling trees, pruning, ...

My experience is that I get one contact (phone or email) for every 5-10 clicks via adword ads, and every other contact is turned into an order with an average value of €250.

You can set up a daily budget on adwords, that will not be exceeded. And you can see lots of statistics about what search words got people to your ad etc.

you contradicted yourself there!!!

and if you could tell people how to get websites to no.1 you wouldnt be climbing trees for a living :001_smile:

Ahem, no you'd be doing something similar to what I do

Pay Per Click, e.g. Google AdWords is basically just a slot machine, you just have to keep trying different methods until you find the one that pays out for you.

There is a LOT of research and testing work involved that obviously comes with costs, but once you get the hang of it there's definitely the potential for money to be made using it.
