Dont buy a 260 mate, For ringing up all day, Its under powerd imo, Get a 341 or 361 and if your going for a Stihl, That way you'll have enough power to cope with ringing up :001_smile:

Ditto that one,the 26 is good at what it does and will outpunch its weight occasionally when required, but for logging grab something stronger (and i've got a 26 for sale),how's that for honesty? :laugh1:

im not going to be ringing up all day everyday just a few hours here and there when i get some free time. Would the 026 be suitable for that or should i buy a 341 or 361??

I suppose if the logs picked up it would be advantageous to go for the more powerful option as that will cover light and heavy use.

i use a 361 for ringing up great saw that handles most timber i want to ring

ive got an 18 inch bar fitted , also use a 171 for small stuff as its nice and light

Personally, Id always go for that little bit more power, A 260 will be flogging its guts out ringing up for a few hours, Plus, Like you say, if the odd time you need to do bigger stuff, A 361 will be able to cope, You could have a 15inch bar on it, day to day but then if you got some bigger timber, You could purchase and 18 or maybe even a 20inch bar for it, That way, everything is covered :thumbup1:

260's in my experience have a habbit of falling apart or seizing if used hard .... i would go bigger especially if its going to be used for ringing up all day

Totally agree; 260 will irritate you as it won't be quick enough in timber over 8" diameter.
