Immigration is a joke and i agree with you about that, but the taxes also are spent on some of the best public services in the world, where a person deosn't have to worry about having a life saving operation because they cant afford it, in my family alone in the last year my grandads life has been saved through the absolutely fantastic service we have in the NHS, by operating successfully on a cancer that was sure to kill him which has now been completely removed as well as my auntie being sucesffuly treated for skin cancer within a matter of weeks of identifying it! Also i have been given the help (financially) to learn my choosen trade as a tree surgeon which now after being given the chance to learn i am am thoroughly happy earning good money and able to pay back the chance i have been given in my taxes which has all been offered to me under a labour government! not all labour supporters are free loading social parasites!!

I personally dont think you can put any of that down solely to a labour government.

Well Nick Clegg becoming Deputy PM, I never saw that coming!! Used properly, (unlike Prescott!!) the Office of D.P.M is a very powerfull position, and probably the highest position Clegg could attain as a Lib-Dem. Going to be interesting to see how this influences and affects the political manoueverings of the new government.

I think we could now have a pretty good government in place, the Conservatives will be prepared to make the very hard decisions that are needed, but they will be tempered by the Liberals, meaning they won't be quite as harsh.

I feel much more hopeful about the future than I have for a long time.

I feel sure I will be worse off, as working family tax credits will have to be cut, but thats a small price to pay for a secure economic future for the country as a whole.

What the country really needs is a strong, competent, chancellor, with the ability to extricate us from this financial black hole. Someone like Norman Lamont, who so successfully managed his tenure at the treasury by getting us chucked out of the ERM after 'Black Monday'and wiped millions of the markets at a stroke during his brilliant handling of the economy.

I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong, but he was Chancellor under a Labour government, wasn't he? :confused1:

Very funny. Black Monday - golden monday for farmers. All depends on thy perspective as does any opinion expressed here. Markets are fickle anyway.

Despite being a tory voter, I don't really think that the Labour Government is solely responsible for the shambles that is UK Plc. I believe that the sad state of the economy and the apparant lack of moral standards, backbone, educational standards, religious biggotry etc, is due to the earth being populated by human beings. The greater majority of which are want "it" now, someone else to pay for it, don't like being insulted, some else to do it, and could not give a toss about it. The minority just have to pay for it, fight for it, be insulted for it and care for it. All done with upsetting the others! If abanker studies hard at school, uni or whatever, spends silly hours at work, trying to turn his allocation of some else's money into something bigger, pay him his large bonus. If the uncaring cannot be bothered to better their status in the gene pool right from the start, do nothing but moan about the inequalities of life, then stop their benefits and then they have to work!

Sorry, rant, rant,rant.
