Now that would be tellin :sneaky2::001_tt2:

I'll try and get me bearings and post up a location for ya.

One of us will need to get up there to confirm it, when it matures.

.

yes indeed on a very serious note this will help my case on going forward in having this designated a SAC rather than sssi, they are killing this wood step by step.

That would be impressive Tony, as far as I'm aware only Richmond Park is currently SAC within the M25.

Richmond Park - Special Area of Conservation - SAC - Habitats Directive

Verified Oak polypore would add some serious weight to designation.

Have you spoken with Watford Council on this before?

Not 100% sure that it's on this central ride or the one above it.

When you come across the Beech with the orange stem (in shot 2) then its on the opposite side of the path, roughly 15 yards into the woods.

It's behind the Big fir next to this cut up fallen Pine.

Hopefully knocking (accidently :blushing:) a piece off, doesn't effect it's development.

There should be enough left to form a couple of bracket tiers.

yes yes david, i know the vet beech in the right hands side of image, great!

Its a VERY big deal to have a fresh unbiassed and quality pair of eyes in my wood, you can become a little tunnel visioned if left to your own devices in one place.

i havent looked behind that vet beech for years. funny cos there isnt much beyond that not usualy !

as for the SAC designation, I will see it happen, if it is my lifes sole purpose and work, and i am already puting the foundations in as we speak thanks to this final wieghty piece thanks to you, i owe you a pub lunch my friend at the very least!

Nice set, can you remember how far off the trunk they were?

.

They where only about 2mters off the trunk less maybe. are they mycos? or similar to crispa?

Got it listed as parasitic.

Ours all tend to be the same distance from trunk..

That makes sense, because I once found it on top of a sycamore stump about 2 mtres high, I almost forgot i found it like that till i asked if it was myco!

Podo's on a Lime.

I hadn't seen any 'on' the Tree before.

Guess this kinda confirms the parasitic nature.
