For the avoidance of doubt (and following certain vicious rumours :sneaky2:) the ISA TCCs are not cancelled.

It is possible that you may have missed notification of the dates as they were initially posted in the wrong place on the website a couple of months ago... sorry about that! :blushing:

Anyway, these are the dates and venues for the ISA climbing competitions in 2010. Much fun to be had at the following events... they are not nearly as elitist as you may think or have been told - education and tree climbing fun is the name of the game. Everyone is welcome to come along and see what it's all about.

Student Tree Climbing Competition and Conference plus 10 Year anniversary celebration - Moulton College, 2-3 June

UK&I Finals - Drayton Manor Park, 22-23 May (we may also run some workshops on 21st May if there is sufficient demand for this - please comment on this)

European Finals - Prague, 12-13 June

English Open - Southampton, 26-27 June

World Finals - Chicago, 24-25 July

Scottish Open - Barony College, 14-15 August

Welsh Open - Waunfawr park, 4-5 September

Irish - TBC, likely to be later in September if sufficient demand for it

Hope to see you in the trees in 2010! :thumbup1:

Sadly no old git section... you have to go to USA for that at the moment, you would just qualify for that one.

Back to the UK though... If it's your first comp you could climb as a novice and there is a class for that. New comp climbers, however experienced in the industry, get 3 novice comps before becoming seniors.

Give it a try, the atmosphere is great, everyone is helpful and supportive. They'll help you know what to do, lend you kit etc... check out the rules on ISA website - good cure for your insomnia!

workshops would be good. any idea when the 2010 entry forms are going to be up?

Very informal workshops planned for the Friday of UK&I comp, mainly aimed at novices.

We've had some technical difficulties with the website but have a session planned to sort it out tonight (with someone who actually knows what they are doing!!) so forms should be available after that. Sorry about the delay, it's all a steep leaning curve!
