Allowable Expenses

Yes I agree with that but thats not what 'good' accountants usually do.

Also claiming you pay someone XX amount of money for a service that they dont provide in order to save tax is I think fraud. Plus his Mrs would then have to declare the earnings any pay the tax anyway.

There is a lot of stuff you can claim for but you have to prove it all.

You only pay tax above a certain amount.

Just a thought Dean, something i seem to remember from my accountant, you can claim for an office in the house, but be careful with planning permission. You are not allowed a room solely for the use of work without permission. Mine is in the kids playroom, that way you can still offset.:sneaky2:

you dont have to have an actual office, just claim a percentage of houshold bills for business use, i.e heating, lightbulb, internet, etc etc, otherwise you would have to setup seperate phone lines and elecy meters etc etc, think you can use something like 3% of annual bills as business use without any fuss.

I think you can claim expenses on an office, leccy, all stationary stamps etc etc, furniture for office, telephone, day to day book keeper, even taking people out on a business lunch. I know it doesn't sound much but it adds up thro out the year. I'll speak to me Dad and ask him as he has done my bro s books and he hasn't payed tax for the last 3-4 year only started paying this year. And yes all above board as checked by tax man.
