when you've finished Kew pop down to the river in Richmond there's a few pubs next to the bridge and next to that there are some munter plane trees! then up to Richmond park as alliaria says.

Ask sean on here... he works on the trees in the park.

I mean BIG! in this context!

Blossoms are out in full force at the moment. Will get my thinking head on for other stuff....

MonkeyD, on here, works on Hampstead Heath for the Corporation of London. Bet there will be some good stuff there+ stunning views towards London.

Green Park and St James park next to buckingham palace are very pretty.. not sure about the trees... there are lots of them, not sure if they are any special ones, but will be close to where you are staying.

If I can think of anything else I shall post it.

if you go around kew you will have a great time but if you go around london on a whole you will see loads of pollards but not quite pollards more like topping is what you will see! with a few good bits of tree work(reductions) in between .... My fiance gets mad taking me any where in london as i always look at trees that have been worked on and the majority i would of done different!

There is an amazingly huge (must be 16' across!!)sweet chestnut in chiswick, just up the road from kew. It's in the rear of a block of flats in Bolton road W4. You can walk down their drive into the rear garden.. if your coming from the south i think it's the 3rd building on the left. it's a brown 70's build.:thumbup1:

Take some photos of it and post it!

As pointed out already, Richmond park and surrounding area has a good number of fine parkland & street Trees.

You could then take in the trees at Hampton Court/Bushy park, get on to the river there, change at Westminister bridge, then get on the ferry up tp Greenwich park. (21 miles)

The heath at Hampstead & adjacent Heritage site of Kenwood, is pretty cool, but then I would say that. Some nice old trees & cracking views south toward the city.
