Nice to see the tree world is at the cutting edge of environmental awareness. Many large engined 4x4's are tools and despite their world wrecking credentials are essential to get the job done. The likes of the X5 et al are vanity vehicles and nothing more. The BMW brand equity is all about showing off how much money you're prepared to spend on a car (not how much money you've got, as aspirational BMW owners spend more % wise than most others) nothing more. I'm interested to know what motivates someone to wear such a low moral code on their sleeve. Saddam Hussein chic. Meanwhile the third world starves. Well done!

Oh and no-one say `jealous!' as its an old and worn out retort with no value.

Dont you think the X5 looks like a 320 touring on steroids?

Im presently trying to get a good price on a new one of these;

I like the performance of the Cayenne, but that's about all. Plus, the turbo version is around £73k compared to the £51k that I'm paying for my X5.

Driving an X5, Cayenne, Range Rover etc attracts a lot of unwanted attention. Only recently a few streets from me, some gansters smashed through a front door to get the keys of an X5 ran over the owner who tried to stop them. He survived but he is going to buy a Saab estate now. Dont blame him. Nice cars Saabs.

I run a cheap 4x4 - Daihatsu Fourtrack.

Plenty of nice Range Rovers and X5s on my road, can't say we've ever had a problem with gangsters! I don't live in the middle of Birmingham!

Being a successful tree surgeon I can easily afford it, and seeing as my wife works long hours at her low paid job as a senior partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers I need something to keep me occupied at the weekends.

Nice motor, my wife has got a DB9.
